Internships:
Definition of Internship:
An internship is an opportunity to extend information and skills acquired in the lecture phase of a school. It implies further work under the supervision of a practicing professional. In contrast to a DTS or CDTS outreach, interns do not usually go out in a group after their lecture phase. The student receives 1 credit per week and is expected to give an average of 40 to 50 hours per week to the project. The intern may choose to remain on-site beyond the credits required by the University in order to gain additional training. The student must register with the University before the internship begins, but may actually work on-site for dates not coinciding with University terms. Work should be done within one year of the lecture phase. The internship may be in one location or in a mobile situation.

Guidelines for Student Eligibility:

  • A grade of "C" or higher during the lecture phase
  • Growing spiritually
  • Emotionally stable
  • Motivated and willing
  • Has a word from the Lord
  • Healthy and strong enough physically to handle demands of situation
  • Financially responsible
  • Has approval from school leader for the specific placement
  • Willing to adhere to host organization's (on-site supervisor's) procedures and policies.

The students must first apply for the internship through the Admission office at U of N Woodcrest. The application cost is currently $15. The student is required to pay for the internship before beginning it (consistent with U of N policy about paying for any school). Top
