Music is a language that the entire world shares in common. God is in the creative process of creating new songs, in the act of the audience taking it in, of truthful, honest, and hopeful words, moving past the ears and into the heart.
At YWAM Woodcrest, we hope to create an environment that nourishes the creativity in all people. In the past, we have has budding artists come and share their music, through recording songs for the internet, playing in local coffee shops, and ministering in all sorts of music venues from american churches to foreign bars.
We've recently opened up our campus to host "House Concerts," Intimate and cozy concerts where you can really enjoy the beauty of music without the lyrics being drowned out by outside noise.
Personally, I have seen music open up doors in some closed places that the light of the gospel would otherwise not be welcome.
Johann Sebastian Bach said, “The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.”
It is an amazing thing to know that people are being sang over with words of truth and redemption, and their souls are being refreshed, sometimes without them even realizing it.
If you are an aspiring musician who has a heart to reflect your love for God and life, we want to support you by giving you a place to come and play, record, or get connected with the music ministry we are doing.
